MY BEAUTIFUL BOHOL

I am a native in Bohol, a small island in the Philippines. Today, i want to give a snapshost of what i am proud of. I invited some of my colleagues to have a tour with me. Month of August is always one of the best months for me.

I am writing this blog hoping that i could give insights to the people who plan to visit the province.  This might be an unusual blog, but somehow i hope it will be useful, and I am so proud to be able to have this opportunity to share what everyone should experience.

Taking a cab going to the waiting area for the river cruise.  The place is so fantastic that it has its own elevator to take the  visitors to the bridge that was converted to a plaza.

THE AMAZING BEAUTY OF THE LOBOC RIVER

A breathtaking beauty to be proud of. How mysterious and amazing life is, living in a cheap yet luxurious life of a province. This is what i always missed back home.

BLOOD COMPACT SHRINE

I always find the place to be really captivating, in my heart, the place will always have the special space  for an unknown reason and i will continue visiting  even a hundred times.

BLOOD COMPACT The Sandugo or Blood Compact Shrine monument found in Bo-ol district of Tagbilaran City is a landmark at the site of the first international treaty of friendship between Spaniards and Filipinos. Behind the monument is a magnificent view of Bohol Sea. The Sandugo was a blood compact, performed in Bohol between the Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna, the chieftain of Bohol, on March 16, 1565, to seal their friendship as part of the tribal tradition. This is considered as the first treaty of friendship between the Spaniards and Filipinos. "Sandugo" is a Visayan word which means "one blood" The monument, with the bronze statues of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi, Rajah Sikatuna and several other witnesses, was a masterpiece of the Boholano sculptor and National Artist for Sculpture, Napoleon Abueva. MAN-MADE FOREST IN BILAR, BOHOL

MAN MADE FOREST The Bohol Forest is a man-made mahogany forest stretching in a two-kilometer stretch of densely planted Mahogany trees located in the border of Loboc and Bilar towns. Before and after this man-made forest are the naturally grown forests of Loboc and Bilar which are thick with a kaleidoscope of green foliage, different species of trees and giant ferns lining the road.

CHOCOLATE HILLS IN CARMEN, BOHOL

BOHOL MAJESTIC CHOCOLATE HILLS

BOHOL MAJESTIC CHOCOLATE HILLS

The total number of hills is 1,268.  To be able to get the beautiful view of the Chocolate Hills, we climbed 213 concrete steps towards one of the hills that is converted into a viewing deck.  Besides the beauty of the hills, I cannot forget the fresh air.

Based on a scientific explanation about its origin—the Chocolate Hills are conical karst hills, called mogote, which were created by a combination of the dissolution of limestones by rainfall, surface water, and groundwater and their subaerial erosion by rivers and streams after they had been uplifted above sea level and fractured by tectonic processes.

SHIP HAUS in Batuan, Bohol

Before this famous house became an attraction, I got the chance to appreciate the beauty few years back. It’s an inspiration to everyone who sees it.  It was built out of hardwork and most of all love for the family.  I have learned as i watched the house from afar. Everything in life has a it’s own reason.  The failures in love should not be a reason for us to hold on our past.

That there is success when you pair hard work with constant determination.
